Life is hard, and being human isn’t always easy. We are faced with figuring out who we are, how we connect with others, and how we want to move through the world around us. A world that can often be stressful and painful, especially when our existing systems are oppressive and leave little room for those who don’t fit into narrow societal standards. Mental health challenges can make that already difficult work feel even heavier.

You deserve support

Distress related to our relationship with ourself, with others, and with the world around us, are a part of being human. In fact, I would argue that often it is a natural response to life’s complexity. My role is to help you move through that distress, make meaning of it, and begin to live a more fulfilling and authentic life.

I have experience working with a variety of concerns, though I specialize in:

  • Relationship challenges and difficult relationship patterns

  • Self-esteem and body image concerns

  • Trauma and it’s ongoing impact

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Moving through shame and self-criticism

  • Life transitions and identity exploration

Contact me to set up a consultation!

The Process:

  • Step 1: Contact me to schedule a brief phone consultation. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

  • Step 2: Schedule an intake appointment to explore your concerns more in-depth, gather relevant history, and identify your goals for therapy

  • Step 3: Begin the work of therapy to build on this foundation, work towards increased self-understanding, and start to make authentic changes

You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If you’re curious, struggling, or simply wanting to grow, therapy can be a place to begin. I offer 50 minute sessions in-person or virtually.

My approach to therapy is rooted in feminist and relational psychodynamic perspectives. This means that I am interested in diving deep into your present concerns, as well as your history, to understand the underlying factors that contribute to your distress. I believe that our sense of self is shaped through being in relationship with others, and the broader societal context, and thus our distress is often rooted in difficulties with our relationship with ourselves, others, or the world around us. Through engaging in deep exploration, we will work to create a meaningful understanding of how you became who you are today and support you in who you wish to be.

If this approach resonates with you, feel free to contact me!
